The William Magee Center for AOD and Wellness Education offers a supportive and inclusive environment for students to meet with a wellness staff member. We’re here for you, and look forward to sharing effective strategies to conquer academic stress, reduce substance use, discuss relationship concerns, and by working together, create easy steps you can take to be a healthier version of you. Wellness consultations are an opportunity to discuss four key areas of wellness that can have a impact on your time here at the University of Mississippi: Substance Safety, Sexual Wellness, Mental Wellness, and Physical Wellness.
Discuss safe drinking habits, smoking cessation, as well as information about harmful drug use and other risky substance use behaviors. We also offer resources for students seeking support during the recovery process.
Discuss topics such as physical activity, nutrition, and sleep health, and learn how to properly take care of the needs of your physical body.
Mental and emotional wellness involves the awareness and acceptance of one’s feelings, emotions and thoughts. We will provide you with the tools and coping skills you need to manage stress and anxiety related to school and other life challenges.
Learn how to take a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as understanding how to engage in pleasurable and safe sexual experiences.
Students are invited to schedule an appointment with a wellness educator whenever they are in need of support.
